:: 'Your parents never teach you any manners isit?' :: 11:48 PM

Singapore's service industry has been much maligned in recent times.
Below eg. of what happened to PC last sat reflects on just how badly the guests/customers are as well.

Venue: Tudor ballroom
Time: Around 10 plus

The guests have just finished toasting and are playing their customary 'let's sabo the happy couple' pranks, taking a very long time. Of course, we have to rush our service. Try serving 5 courses in 30 plus minutes. We have barely enough time to clear our main dishes, let alone replenish drinks

Anyway, this guest at PC's table told him:
'You have no eyes to see my wine glass is empty ar?'

!!!

How rude. True, he has reason to be pissed I supposed. But there's no need to speak in such a tone to a person serving you your dinner.

PC just finished his service and got his wine for him, also apologising to him. The guest just waved him away.

Oh, for goodness sake, the guy just attended to your request practically immediately and the least you could do is to acknowledge the guy more politely. Bear in mind that you were rude to him earlier.

Now, PC is a very even tempered guy, and if the same thing happened to me I would have lost it many times over. He snapped and guess what he did??

He poked the guest in the shoulder! And told him:
'Your parents never teach you any manners isit?'

Shuai dai le!! I hope he didn't get into too much trouble over this.

I probably would have done something tamer and said something sarcastic like:
'Do you want me to serve you now and leave the other 9 people at your table hungry?'

I'll never underestimate PC in the future.
Those who keep their temper in check are the worst when they lose it.
